Camp Roger

Filmmaker & Photographer

Stakeholder Impact:
The goal was building stakeholder trust through building proof of institutional value—that Camp Roger isn't merely a collection of activities and is instead a community with distinctive cultures, spiritual rhythms, and traditions that create meaningful experiences.

▶ Advancement & Development: Developed storytelling assets for grants and donor relations showcasing mission impact—children experiencing Camp Roger's ministry through creation, positive experiences, and uplifting relationships.
▶ Community Partnerships: Created outreach content showcasing Camp Roger's ethical leadership and impact on Baxter Community Center's growth.

▶ Camp Leadership & Registrar: Strengthened Program storytelling through transparency to gain customer trust and reduce friction in the enrollment process. This included telling stories about our traditions (e.g. Holiday Week), chapel values, and how we serve those with disabilities.
▶ Camp Leadership & Registrar: Developed daily lifestyle and documentary photography to increase parent confidence. We focused our creative direction on themes of mentorship, belonging, and friendship—while highlighting every camper each session.

My impact:

▶ Prioritized truth and clarity of message.
1) Defined what the camp needed to communicate to build institutional value and build, by working cross-functionally and developing messaging goals
2) Discovered what made camp meaningful to children and collected evidence to support the claim by gathering content and reporting
3) Identified the ministry story at beginning of week: the developmental, relational, and spiritual impact on the child
4) Shaped the narrative around the ministry story by developing shots and writing talking points for the host (e.g. head counselor)

▶ Prioritized authenticity over polish.
Documented community impact, staff memories, and camper transformation through thesis-driven storytelling—and narrating the impact via host. Searched for moments of sincere authenticity—small kinetic interactions, traditions, songs, visual motifs, textural details, raw handheld vox-pops, and unscripted interviews. Developed prompts during production to create authentic photos.
